-
Senior Development Executive - Over the first five years with EOS I assisted a wide range of businesses in the start up phase
and over their subsequent two years of trading. Latterly I led the company's Training Division and in so doing successfully
designed, marketed, co-ordinated and controlled several major new business training initiatives.
Major achievements included the development of a series of new bespoke training programmes which have led to new
business and income for the company. I spearheaded our move into commercial revenue earning activities which now
contribute over 25% of total company turnover compared to zero in previous years. I was an influential member of new business
strategy team.

Training Programmes I have Successfully Marketed, Co-ordinated and Delivered
- Powerful Presentation Skills - A series of 2 day programmes with the aim of providing delegates with greater confidence and to
improve their presentation skills. The target audience is owner/directors of small and medium sized businesses who have to
make presentations as a part of developing their businesses but who have had little or no formal training. Programme contents include planning and preparation, delivery tips and techniques, 'live' presentations and review using video playback.. I have now delivered five programmes of this type as Impact Communications plus several similar programmes for EOS.
- Childcare Business Skills Training - A 9week, 2 days per week programme of bespoke business training for people contemplating the establishment of children's daycare nursery businesses. The programme covers both personal development, including one and two day modules on Sales and Marketing, Presentation and Communication, Teamworking and Negotiation Skills, and related business development skills embracing introductory marketing, finance, computing and business planning. At present these programmes are delivered under the auspices of EOS. Six of these programmes have been successfully delivered with excellent outcomes in the last two years.
- Dynamic Marketing - A programme of innovative training designed to provide junior and intermediate level delegates from a wide variety of small and medium sized businesses with the practical skills required to implement successful direct marketing campaigns. The programme is flexibly timetabled and includes further 'in-house' individual consultative session with each delegate. The programme contents include planning the campaign, selection of lists, awareness of the hardware and software tools required, design of materials and evaluating direct marketing activities. This new programme is delivered on behalf of EOS.
- Previous employment has included a time as a Consultant with PR Consultants Scotland ( 1984 -1985 ), Contract Negotiator with the U.S. Fluor Corporation subsidiary, engineering design and construction company, Daniel International in Saudi Arabia ( 1981-1983 ), Assistant Public Relations Officer for Cumbernauld Development Corporation ( 1979-1981 ) and Business Research Analyst with CWS Scotland ( 1977 -1979 ).
