Introduction to Christian History
History is an account of how God creates and then deals with his created people. It is not a random or cyclical process but a linear process from the Garden of Eden to the Final Judgement. History is ultimately controlled by God who works all things for his plan. Yet God is not the author of human sin and allows human disobedience and obedience to shape history and judges or blesses individuals and peoples according to his law.
In looking at history from a Christian perspective then we are looking at individual actions and events , their rightness or wrongness from a Christian viewpoint and how God dealt with them. Behind this we are also looking at broad trends and changes and trying to get a glimps at where God was at work moving and shaping men and nations in conformity with where he wanted them to go.
