Animation
The action begins in town, on Friday, September 4, with a
presentation of the riders and their machines, parades, animation,
games and music. You'll certainly want to be on hand when we crown
"Miss Les 12 Heures&endash;1998!".
This is only the beginning of three days of celebration. This year,
real-time results will now be presented on an infield video
scoreboard. In addition to the race itself, the festivities include
demonstrations of the autocross racers from Ordonnaz. These wild,
single-seater, roll-caged off-road vehicles are propelled by 100
horse-power, four-cylinder, 600cc street bike engines. In action,
these vehicles define the phrase, "full-lock powerslide!" In
addition, you can check out stylin' supercross jumps (a la Bercy),
carnival rides, great food and bars featuring incredible local French
wines and beer. Rent a quad (or bring your own) and join us on a
special quad trek (please make reservations in advance). In the
evening, Pont de Vaux features DJ techno-house performances with a
200,000-watt turbo sound system, computer lighting, smoke
innovations, picture canons and hyper-fractal video. Or, book
yourself as a DJ and bring your own music! Saturday night before the
race, a huge fireworks display will kick off the festivities.
PODIUM
The incredible French Air Force mobile podium, a high-tech electronic
semi-trailer and its crew will be multi-operational this year.
Friday, in town, they will be presenting the riders and quads, then,
at the track, they will welcome the riders on Saturday morning. The
mobile podium will also host the traditional trophy and award
presentation after the race. The suspense mounts! Les 12 Heures
approaches!
