Le Mondial de Quads
Les 12 Heures de Pont de Vaux
September 4,5,6 1998
In twelve years, the 12 Hours of Pont de Vaux has become a
classic, a three-day event attracting thousands from around the
world. Race teams comprised of amateurs and top pros from France, the
rest of Europe and abroad are all on hand. Of course, these racers
compete throughout the year at other tracks, both hardpack and
tarmac, but the singular event that the riders, crew chiefs,
mechanics--anyone--would never miss is Les 12 Heures. It's because of
these people that Les 12 Heures continues to flourish. Thank you!
To meet the expected increased spectator interest due to competition
that is getting fiercer every year, the '98 Les 12 Heures is being
moved from August to September, so as not to conflict with summer
vacations. For the benefit of spectators and riders, this new date
will also allow the return of the race quads into the town of Pont de
Vaux throughout the day and evening on Friday. Thanks to the full
support of officials representing everybody of local government, the
race organization has been restructured for 1998. As organizers, all
our efforts now concentrate on this evolution with the aim of making
the 12th edition of Les 12 Heures an unprecedented success in terms
of live audience attendance, as well press and TV coverage.
The event will grow, but the charm, and the festive, magical,
unpredictable quality of a major endurance race will remain, even
into the new millennium!
We'll see you in 2001 for the 15th edition!
