to join the kitchen staff at Callendar
House
to experience the opulence of the wealthy
Georgian family in the 1820s. A warm welcome
awaits you from the large open fire used to spit
roast a succulent leg of lamb. Visitors may partake of a
refreshing glass of barley water. Preparation of
the sumptuous Georgian dishes is demonstrated
mornings and afternoons, followed by a small
sample from the variety of dishes, for example,
orange custard, ratafia drops or perhaps buttered
apples. All recipes date from the early 19th
century.
