| Falkirk Town
Centre - the jewel in the crown In recent times, Falkirk town centre has undergone no less than a metamorphoses, and has now become a much preferred destination for millions of shoppers and visitors from throughout Scotland. The town centre boasts two large and attractive covered shopping centres - the Howgate and Callendar Square, a retail park the likes of which you would normally find out of town, and a choice of local independent stores that is unrivaled in the region. Big name stores such as Marks & Spencer, BHS, Woolworths, Boots, TK Maxx, Virgin, Next and MVC are located in the centres and on the fully pedestrianised High Street, and are complimented by the huge variety of independents 'off' High Street. It's an absolute pleasure to explore the shops in the narrow cobbled lanes and in those streets with names that evoke the days of Falkirk's past such as Cow Wynd, Lint Riggs, Bank Street, Vicar Street and Newmarket Street. |
